I'm Shannon,
nice to meet you.
I am a UX Designer with a background in healthcare. My blend of experiences has given me a deep understanding of how to connect with clients. I strive to heal the frustrations between users and their technology through communication and iteration. My attention to detail helps me to create interfaces that are eye catching and will enhance the overall user experience. By prioritizing accessibility, empathy, and user research, my goal is to advocate for the User's "True Why".
How I got started in user research
I was attracted to UX design not only to create beautiful websites and apps, but because it allows me to continue finding new ways to advocate for others. I've had the privilege of working in various fields over the years. From my time as an Army medic to working as a freelance artist. Through my time at GA, I’ve learned to harness my out-of-the-box solutions and critical thinking skills to enhance user experiences by prioritizing empathy and meaningful User Research.
What I've been working on
As a student at GA, I've been honing my Researching skills to push my understanding of what it means to really build a product for the User. As we've explored how to build an MVP for clients that are not only beautiful, but will really serve the clients needs with their functionality.
I'm currently studying how to develop a site using Webflow to help enhance some passion projects I currently have in the works.
What I'm curious about
I am a firm believer in growth of both the mind and ones' skills. Where there has been a lot of conversation about AI taking over the UX field, I am eager to see how these new tools can enhance my design and researching abilities.
I hope to continue exploring the evolution of UX Design tools and find a company that will encourage furthering my knowledge of this industry.
